G-tune version 1.2 (C) Copyright James H. Clark, JHC SoftWare 1998 G-tune’s System Requirements ---------------------------- G-tune is not a resource hungry "bloat-ware" application. It has been designed to be relatively lean in terms of the hardware required to run it. However, due to the nature of the numerical calculations required, a fast(ish) processor is recommended. Moreover, it will only run under a 32-bit Windows operating system (i.e., Windows95 or NT3.51 or greater). The basic requirements are thus: * 486DX4/100Hz or higher. A fast Pentium is recommended. If your G-tune seems slow, turn off the oscilloscope or spectrum analyser display as this does not affect the functionality of the tuning algorithm. * A windows compatible sound card with a capability to record 16-bit mono audio at a sample rate of 11025Hz. * A video mode of at least 256 colours should be used otherwise the display will look strange. Any screen resolution may be used. * 8Mbytes of RAM minimum (this is really the minimum for Windows anyway). The more RAM the better. Whilst G-tune itself doesn’t need much RAM, all your other applications will run much better with more memory. * Windows95/NT(3.51 or greater) is required! It will NOT run on Windows 3.1.
